Why Support the State Theatre?
First and foremost, we are the area’s major arts and cultural attraction. The arts enhance our lives; they shape the culture of our community. The arts provide a means to creatively expressing ourselves while challenging our intellect. The arts shine a light on the human experience, they bring people together, and they help us understand the joys and the struggles of others.
Support for the arts also bolsters the local economy. A study called The Arts and Economic Prosperity III, the Economic Impact of Nonprofit Arts and Culture Organizations in the State of Pennsylvania conducted in 2010 found that attendees of an arts and culture event each spend an average of $20.20 beyond the cost of admission in the local economy.
This season the State Theatre will present about 50 events including our main stage season of shows, our education series, our classic film series, community programs, dance recitals, and civic events. We estimate that about 15,000-20,000 people will attend an event at the theatre this year. If we multiply that by the $20.00, over $404,000 will be spent in our area restaurants, gas stations, retail shops and parking lots. What an impact the State Theatre will make!
The theatre looks to the future with great expectation. New highways, new industry and a strengthening economy will reinvigorate our region and the State Theatre stands ready to encourage economic growth. All we need is YOU! We want to see even more people at each of our events. The more support we receive the greater our impact can be. By purchasing tickets and attending our various events, you not only support the State Theatre, you support downtown Uniontown and the community at large.
Support the State!
Supporting the State Theatre keeps the arts alive in Downtown Uniontown. The State Theatre is vital to the continued economic development of our city and the region at large. And, isn’t it great to have a beautiful and historic place like this in our hometown?
Be an Arts Leader and Join the Leadership Circle!
Donations to the Leadership Circle are used toward general operating expenses. Heating the State Theatre, lighting up the stage and presenting our season in a clean, well stocked theatre is quite costly. With the support of our generous Leadership Circle donors, the State Theatre is able to keep ticket prices at a minimum and provide a comfortable atmosphere for our guests so that everyone can enjoy the arts!
There are many levels of Leadership Circle Support:

Sponsor a show:
Each year we ask members of our community to make a gift of sponsorship, enabling the State Theatre to continue presenting world class professional theatre to the people of Fayette County and the surrounding area. Sponsorships have allowed the State Theatre to present over 20 seasons of memorable performances. Corporate or private sponsorship of a season performance is the most important support we can receive. By becoming a sponsor, you will play a lead role in the future of the State Theatre Center for the Arts. Together we can set the stage for generations to come. Performances can cost up to $30,000.00 to present. These costs include performance fees, advertising and marketing costs, labor expenses, facility overhead, and travel and hospitality needs for the touring companies. Therefore, your sponsorship helps us keep ticket prices low so that most in our economically challenged community can afford to experience live theatre.
Mainstage Sponsorship and Incentives:
- Sponsors (full presenting cost) 20 tickets to the performance
- Co-sponsors (half presenting cost) 10 tickets to the performance sponsored
- Partial Sponsor (1/4 presenting cost) 5 tickets to the performance
- All sponsors receive 15% off any additional tickets needed to the performance.
- Sponsors receive a listing in our brochure under the sponsored performance which is mailed out to almost 10,000 households.
- Sponsors are listed with performance information on the State Theatre website.
- Each sponsor receives a full page acknowledgement in all of our performance programs distributed to every patron at each show.
- Sponsors are listed in advertisements for the performance in newspaper and radio advertisements and are included in the on screen advertisements prior to each film in the classic film series.
